This question is from myself. My last day on the job outside my home was about three months before my boy was born, and that was six years ago. I’ve been fortunate to figure out how to make enough money for my needs working from home, so I’ve been able to not spend so much on a professional wardrobe to work outside. But now it’s time again. I’m not going to work for someone else, but for myself…I’m finally taking action to realize my dream. I’ve been doing the groundwork for opening what I hope, God willing, is the first in a nation-wide chain of gender-specific fitness centers that have facilities for females only and facilities for males only. Anything having to do with water and swimsuits will be the star attraction of the centers…dedicated lap pools, water parks, pools for swimming lessons, pool parties, hot tubs, saunas, waterfalls, etc. I will need to meet with investors and bankers soon to get this project funded, and I want to look like a million dollars when I do. Stacy and Clinton said it—“You have to look like a million dollars to get a million dollars”—or something like that! (Did anyone see that episode?)
So I began a hunt for tall-sized, modest (or modestifyable), trendy, well-fitted, well-made, size 16 US, professional work clothes in cool color tones that look like a million dollars. OMG! I did a lot of web surfin’ that week. It turns out there IS a store, one store and only one store, that has clothing that meets all those requirements! It’s a UK store, Long Tall Sally.
Here is one of my outfits.
Santa Rose Tunic from Long Tall Sally
Ontario Wideleg Trousers from Long Tall Sally
Stanwyck Frock Coat in Black Velvet from Long Tall Sally
Long Rayon Undershirt from Shukr: Actually I have Shukr’s modal undershirts, not the rayon ones. They are the best undershirt I have ever worn! I am so happy they finally added an undershirt to their line.
Honorable by Clarks® from Zappos in color wine: A very comfortable shoe despite being a pump. I love them!! They are more comfortable than some flats I’ve worn—worth every penny. In real life, their color matches the Santa Rose tunic better.
At Windstorm Ranch: old-fashioned split skirts for riding horses
Do you have a need for black casual dresses or black loungewear (house dresses, dusters, loungers, caftans, muu muus) to wear in the home ? Someone else did too and this is what I found for her.

This one comes in a black & white pattern.

All of the links below go to The Vermont Country Store. My site’s visitors LOVE this store, but they no longer have an affiliate program, so I cannot get pics for you. Click through though to see these very nice pieces. They are all either solid black or black/white. Lots of the dresses that I have not linked to come in black or black/white too, so look around their site if want to see more options.
At the Beach, Poolside, or Out and About: Pretty Crinkle Cotton Beaded Dress Is More than a Cover-Up (very cute-wish I could show a picture)
Morocco-Inspired Caftan in Warm, Cozy Fleece (also very cute)
Modest, Long-Sleeved Travel Dress: Four-Season Comfort, Day and Night Style (this would work as a modest tunic as well if you don’t want your legs showing)
Ready to Party: Rich Black Velour Muu Muu with Bead and Embroidery Accents
Classic Velour A-Line Dress: A Comfortable, Easy Style That’s Right for Almost Any Occasion

I knew of two LDS stores that carried boys’ white pants, and now neither of them do. Strange. I did finally find another place:
Angel Wears: boys’ white pants
This has been my funniest inquiry yet! “poofy old-fashioned underwear” I think the gal was referring to bloomers like these. I’m glad she found me to ask.

I didn’t used to be able to find any modest maternity swimwear online. The choices are still slim, but at least there’s something to choose from!
maternity swim tank with matching maternity swim shorts
maternity swim “dress” with Orthodox Jewish standards of modesty
A few weeks ago, I mentioned 411hijabs.com in the blog about my bazaar selling experience. I have also been wanting to promote them specifically for their awesomely low wholesale headscarf prices. If you don’t want to import yourself, these are absolutely the lowest wholesale prices you will find online shipping from the U.S.
$3.00-$5.00 per scarves of every style! Al Amiras, Kuwaitis, shaylas (wraps), and squares; the low prices make it very easy to sell at an attractive price and still make a profit
They also sell underscarves and girls’ hijab. It seems they hope to sell hijab pins, arm sleeves, and gloves in the future too, and their sister store, 411abaya.com, is soon to debut wholesale abaya.
The minimum purchase is only 3 dozen, so they make it very easy to buy a small number of scarves for:
Julie and Abdul run a tight ship at 411hijabs.com. Their sales, inventory, and order tracking system is top-notch, and they almost never take a vacation or a day off, so your service needs are met in a timely manner. Get on their mailing list because they have free shipping promotions and discounts all the time.
Two of the specialty stores listed in my Modest Clothing Directory offer denim capris:
Of course mainstream stores will have a huge selection of denim capris. Here are just three of those:

And this worlds life is naught but a play and an idle sport and certainly the abode of the hereafter is better for those who guard (against evil); do you not then understand?
